Laurel Registration

Laurel Family Camp is a volunteer-led community experience. While designated leaders and volunteers help organize camp, all participants share responsibility for safety, participation, and the overall camp environment.

Participants attend as independent individuals and families, not as clients of a managed or supervised program.

Laurel is designed to be a collaborative, family-style camp where everyone contributes to making the week meaningful and successful.

Participation in Laurel Family Camp involves inherent risks, including outdoor activities, physical movement, shared living spaces, camp facilities, and group events.

By registering, you voluntarily assume all risks and agree to hold Laurel Family Camp, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates harmless from liability—except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

All camp facilities, cabins, equipment, and grounds are used at your own risk.

Laurel Family Camp does not carry liability or medical insurance. Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage.

In the event of illness or injury, camp leadership or designated volunteers may assist with basic first aid and help coordinate emergency medical care if needed.

You authorize Laurel Family Camp to assist in seeking medical care and arranging transportation if necessary. You are responsible for any associated costs.

Please provide accurate and complete medical information for all registered individuals prior to camp.

You understand that attending camp may involve exposure to contagious illnesses.

By attending, you voluntarily assume these risks and agree to follow any health and safety guidelines set by camp leadership.

All participants are expected to:

• Respect others

• Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment

• Follow camp guidelines

Laurel Family Camp reserves the right to dismiss any participant—without refund—whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or not aligned with the values and functioning of the camp community.

Laurel operates as a shared community experience. Participants may be asked to contribute through:

• Chores

• Meal support

• Setup and teardown

• General camp participation

This shared effort helps camp run smoothly and supports the entire community.

Parents or guardians remain ultimately responsible for their children at all times, including:

• Scheduled activities

• Free time

• Off-site activities

If a child is attending with another adult:

• That adult assumes full responsibility for the child’s supervision, safety, and care.

Full refunds are available up to two weeks before camp begins.

Refunds requested after that deadline are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Late registrations are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us directly.

Ministers serving on staff attend free.
Payment is still required for spouses and children.

Anyone outside your immediate family unit (friends, guests, young adults, teens, or children) must submit a separate registration form.

Parents allowing children/teens to attend with another family do so at their own discretion.

The adult bringing the minor is fully responsible for:

• Medical care

• Behavior

• Participation in Camp

• Transportation

Laurel does not provide transportation or assign responsibility for unattended minors.

• Must sleep in their family’s cabin

• Require two responsible adults for supervision

Single parents are welcome. If you need help coordinating supervision, please indicate this on your registration form.

• Teen group includes those who have completed 6th grade through high school

• A 12-year-old who has completed 6th grade may join the teen group

• A 19-year-old still in high school is considered a teen

• High school graduates or equivalent are considered adults

12-year-olds in the teen group qualify for a half-price registration fee (Short Folk rate)

Lake Use Guidelines

• No lifeguard on duty

• Lake visits are allowed during free time only

• If you take a non-family minor to the lake, two adults (18+) must be present

• Parental permission is required for minors

• You must be 21 or older to drive a non-family minor off camp property

Camp schedules, activities, and programming may change based on:

• Weather

• Staffing

• Community needs

Updated schedules will be posted in the Dining Hall and shared throughout the week.

Laurel Family Camp is not responsible for cancellations, changes, or interruptions due to circumstances beyond its control, including weather, natural events, or other unforeseen conditions.
